MINUTES OF THE HINGHAM SCHOOL COMMITTEE
April 28, 2008
The meeting was called to order by Chrisanne Gregoire at 6:20 p.m. at Hingham High School.
Members Present: Chrisanne Gregoire, Christine Smith, Barbara Cook, Esther Healey, Linda Hill, Steve Nagle.
Central Office Present: Dot Galo, Ellen Keane, David Killory, Jean Curtis Loud.
Visitors Present: Roger Boddie, Alan Freedman.
On a motion by Linda Hill and seconded by Christine Smith,

Voted: To approve the Minutes of the Regular Session of April 7, 2008.
New Business.
The Committee received notification of the appointment of Anthony Keady as Principal of South School, effective July 1, 2008.
The Committee received notification of the appointment of Margaret Conaty as Athletic Director, effective July 1, 2008.
Dot Galo noted that Anthony Keady and Margaret Conaty will be introduced at the May 12th School Committee meeting.
The Committee received notification of the resignation of Megan Downer, a paraprofessional at South School, effective April 28, 2008.

Voted: To approve the bid for copy paper, as recommended.
On a motion by Barbara Cook and seconded by Esther Healey,

Voted: To approve the bid for classroom/office supplies, as recommended.
David Killory provided an update on the FY ’08 school budget.
Subcommittee Reports.
Christine Smith, Chair of the Long Range Planning Subcommittee, reported on a recent MS tour with potential vendors for modulars.
Chrisanne Gregoire and David Killory attended a recent Executive Session meeting with Town Boards to discuss matters related to Collective Bargaining.
Superintendent’s Report.
1. School Committee election information – self nomination process.
2. Kindergarten enrollment projections.
3. HEF/HSC Staff Appreciation Reception May 21.

Voted: By roll call vote, with all in favor, to adjourn to Executive Session at 6:40 p.m to discuss matters pertaining to pending litigation. The Committee stated it would not re-convene in Regular Session.
