The new Hingham High School Library Media Center was opened in October of 1999. It offers faculty and students a variety of educational resources including print, non-print, electronic and on-line information. There are a total of twelve networked computer workstations fully equipped with publishing programs and Internet access for student use. The Online Database collection includes Facts on File, Infotrac, Electric Library, SIRS and Proquest Newspapers. To assist teachers and students with their research projects, the library staff maintains a list of curriculum related Internet Resources and Search Engines on this site. The Library Media Center also has a state of the art television studio and digital and linear video editing facilities. Students can edit their videos using our JVC electronic video editing system or digitally on one of the two Media 100 computerized video editing systems. WHHS TV broadcasts a weekly "Friday Show" devoted to student produced videos. Over Cable Channel 22, school announcements and events are broadcast. |
